Louise Bourgeois | The Damned, the Possessed, and the Beloved
Installation at the Steilneset Memorial
“During the European witch-hunts of the 17th century, more people were convicted of sorcery and burned at the stake in Eastern Finnmark than anywhere else in Norway. Steilneset Memorial in Vardø was erected to commemorate the 91 victims who were convicted of sorcery and executed there. Steilneset Memorial is located near the assumed execution site, with a view towards the church as well as the old fortress. The narrative is communicated through art and architecture, realized in a unique collaboration between the artist Louise Bourgeois and the architect Peter Zumthor.”

Bauhaus: This too was old timey
Small schools, classes, staff. Suppression, suffering, a short period of time. It takes less: tradition and innovation with even a small footprint can accomplish what a dozen massive education engines can not.
